When the GC doesn't call, you don't know about the job.

Most sub work comes from repeat GCs and referrals. That's fine — until their pipeline slows, or the GC already has a go-to for your trade on that project. Without a way to see new permits the moment they issue, you're waiting by the phone.

Referrals dry up without warning

One slow month from your main GC and the phone goes quiet. You need to see what's being built — not wait to hear.

Cold-calling GCs is a dead end

Most don't answer. Even if they do, you don't know which ones are still hiring subs for your trade on current projects.

Generic permit lists are noise

Thousands of filings per month. 99% are wrong size, wrong trade, or wrong stage. You need a filtered feed, not a firehose.

How PermitPipeline works for subs

We watch every NYC construction permit the moment it issues, score it for your trade, and send the top matches to your inbox daily. You know which GCs are starting what — before their subs are locked in.

1

We watch every new permit

NYC DOB publishes every issued construction permit. We pull the data every few hours, 24/7, across all five boroughs.

2

We score it for your trade

Each project gets a per-trade grade (A+ / A / B) based on size, category, and signals that the trade work is actually still open — not already sub-contracted.

3

You reach out first

Daily digest: project address, GC name + license, owner name, project value, permit stage. Enough to send a capabilities email or pick up the phone the same morning.

Questions subs ask

Which trades do you cover?
Plumbing, electrical, mechanical (HVAC), sprinkler, structural, and demolition. Every lead is scored for each trade independently based on project size, permit category, and the specific work-type tags on the filing.
How do I know the trade work isn't already locked up?
Honest answer: you don't, 100%. But we score projects by signals that the trade work is still open — project stage, size, and whether the trade was itemized on the filing. Most big jobs need plumbing, electrical, and mechanical even if they're not itemized — so we surface them. Your outreach confirms.
Do you give me the GC's contact info?
Yes — GC business name and license number are on every sub lead. Phone and email enrichment is on the roadmap as a paid add-on. For now, license number + business name is enough to look up contact info via the NYC DOB Licensed Contractors public dataset.
What does a sub lead include?
Project address, borough, permit type (new building, major alteration, etc.), permit status, estimated project value, owner name, GC business name + license number, issued date, and a direct link to the NYC DOB record. Plus per-trade scores so you can filter to your trade.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. One click in your account. No phone calls, no "retention specialists." Prorated refund on the current month.
Is this legal? Is permit data public?
Yes. NYC permit filings are public record under New York's Freedom of Information Law. We pull from NYC's official DOB NOW API.
